For every child,

Under the general supervision of the Planning and Monitoring Specialist, provide professional technical assistance and support to planning and monitoring section in country programme planning processes, review and reporting. Actively engage in implementation and management of monitoring of activities, data analysis and progress reporting, in support of achievement of UNICEF goals and objectives.

How can you make a difference?

  1. Contribute to the effective conduct of planning and monitoring to improve programme performance, and to timely preparation of programme status reports required under CPAP and UNDAF. Gender/sex disaggregated and social inclusion data and inputs relevant to country programme provided as integral part of programming.
  2. Effective knowledge management and system, information exchange and the training and orientation materials on results-based planning and monitoring in the new federal context.
  3. Support in preparation/updating of the baseline and situation analysis of convergent Local Governments, critical performance monitoring and child-centered interventions identified, and programme work plans, recommendations and reports prepared as required.
  4. Support in training/orientation organised for UNICEF Field Office teams in results- based planning, administration of monitoring tools and participation in annual review meetings at different levels. Assist in optimal utilization of programme funds.
  5. Contribute in system strengthening and institutionalization of  local level monitoring system, integrated local MIS, results-based local level planning, monitoring, review and budgeting, child-friendly governance and child participation.
  6. Building capacity of federal level institutions and child cubs/networks and networks of adolescents for risk informed planning, monitoring and quality assurance.
  7. Policy advocacy for adaptation and development of legislation, policy and guidelines and child-centered budgeting.
  8. Support to the establishment and operationalization of Convergent Palikas for integrated programming, monitoring of results including baseline and end line.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Economics, Social Science, Sociology, Rural Development or any other social field is required
  • A minimum of two years working experience in professional posts within UN organization, familiarity with UNICEF work procedure is an asset
  • Fluency in English and Nepali is required.
