How can you make a difference?

UNICEF Bangladesh Country Office needs the services of a Human Resources Officer at the P-2 level to fill the existing gap in the HR unit. The position will support the service delivery section and improve the service delivery to Dhaka, field Offices and the emergency duty station of Cox’s Bazar.  The incumbent will support with new hire orientation, onboarding of staff, administration of benefits and entitlements with a special attention to R&R and SETCO, be the focal point in HR on service delivery questions and concerns from the field Offices. The Incumbent will also support the recruitment of field office posts and provide data analytics to the Chief Human Resources on gender and diversity.

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Human Resources/OIC, and in close consultation with other HR Staff, the incumbent will be responsible for key HR activities as follows;

HR Service Delivery

  • Liaise with the GSSC to provide UNICEF Bangladesh staff members an efficient and customer-oriented service delivery; review documents, respond to queries and follow through the processing and payment of benefits and entitlements.
  • Provide guidance to the HR Assistant and ensure effective management of leave (Annual leave, R&R, SECTO, Sick Leave, SLWOP etc).
  • Conduct HR orientation briefing for newly recruited staff members and support them through proper integration in the office; and provide better support to staff through the offboarding process when they leave UNICEF.

HR Analytics and Reporting

  • Review TMS data and carry out periodic updates to ensure system data are correct.
  • Provide HR staff/workforce data statistics and report to the Chief HR/CMT as required (gender and geographical balance, recruitment, staff numbers etc.)
  • On a quarterly basis, carry out analysis of the monthly leave reconciliation done by the HR Assistant; provide a report highlighting any errors to guide future reconciliations.
  • Liaise with the HR Assistant in Cox’s Bazar, monitor the use of SECTO and provide reports when needed.

Recruitment

  • Support the recruitment of staff and provide guidance to Hiring Managers on the use of TMS.
  • Maintain a roster of backup candidates and ensure they are added to the Talent Groups where necessary.
  • Liaise with Programme sections to verify requests for surge deployments and update the surge deployment roster.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Education: University Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, International Relations, of another related field of study. Trained and experienced in the use of the UNICEF Talent Management System (TMS)
  • Work Experience: Two years of progressive experience in Human Resources Management. Experience in administering benefits and entitlements strong asset. Experience and familiarity with UNICEF HR policies, procedures and systems. Experience in Staff Onboarding and Induction Processes. Good communication and analytical skills. Strong Drive for Results.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English, oral and written is required.
