The Division of Public Partnerships (PPD) works to enhance UNICEF's position as a partner of choice for children's rights among governments and public actors around the world. The division is doing this by connecting UNICEF's positioning of children in intergovernmental and multilateral fora and negotiations to the engagement with governments and public institutions (including IFIs) as resource, policy and programme partners. A key premise for PPD is that the engagement with countries should be based on multiple levels of partnerships, including around resource mobilization and policy advocacy.

The Grand Bargain's key success will be an improved quality and efficiency of our humanitarian action and the closing of the financing gap. As part of UNICEF's commitments to the Grand Bargain, we need to galvanize new partnerships to bring additional resources and capabilities with new partners (WB, Innovative funding), Global Funds, and advocate for innovative, predictable, flexible/multi-year funding (RR, Humanitarian Thematic funds).

This requires political will and stronger collective efforts to advance the bargain between more flexible and quality funding (sustainable, multi-year and un-earmarked), reduced constrains related to reporting requirements and management costs, and better needs assessments, planning, monitoring and reporting for results.

  1. Increase evidence-base for humanitarian multi-year funding and reduced earmarking
  2. Support UNICEF’s engagement in Grand Bargain workstream “Enhance quality funding 
    through reduced earmarking and multi-year planning and funding
  3. Support engagement in the Work Stream 9 on Harmonized Reporting, with pilot countries (Myanmar, Somalia and Iraq).


To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • An Advanced university degree in social and economic sciences or related field. 
  • A minimum of 7 of relevant professional experience in related field.
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
