Under the guidance and general supervision of the Chief Field Operations and the technical guidance of the Chief, Education Section, in Kinshasa, the Education Specialist will support the development and preparation of all education programs/projects in its zone and is responsible for planning, managing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating and reporting progress of education programs/projects in the DRC Southern Zone. The Specialist provides technical guidance and management support throughout the programming process to facilitate the administration and achievement of results in education programs/projects in order to improve learning outcomes as well as equitable and inclusive education especially for children who are marginalized, disadvantaged and excluded in society. Considering the current crisis in the former Katanga province, the Education Specialist also supports resource mobilization and the implementation of education in emergency programs. The purpose of this assignment is to identify how climate change is likely to affect water security and WASH programming. This will include identifying the impacts of slow onset changes, as well as humanitarian emergencies and disasters. Climate resilient programme involves: understanding the context in which we operate; designing and implementing programmes that alleviate and transform the underlying drivers of vulnerability and risk; and informing operations and service delivery so that they are adaptable and sustainable in hazard-prone environments and build more resilient communities. Content Analysis of Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS) Consultancy
The purpose of this consultancy then is twofold: Part 1: To conduct a rigorous qualitative analysis on ELDS documents from 35 countries exploring a few key dimensions of interest related to the standards, including the role of play among others. This part of the consultancy will employ traditional qualitative methods and techniques to arrive at key findings and patterns in the data. Key dimensions of the analytic framework should include the following: play-based learning, equity, cultural relevance, feasibility of application. Part 2: For 1-2 purposefully selected countries use existing ELDS documents, as well as additional policy, curriculum, and other available early learning materials, and conduct exploratory analysis of barriers, bottlenecks and enabling factors which either constraint or advance the achievement of quality play- based learning in national early learning systems. This part of the consultancy will utilize exploratory methods and will serve as a stepping stone for developing an analytic framework that can be used to conduct similar analysis in the context of more countries.

Gender Capacity Strengthening Consultant
The Capacity Strengthening consultant’s role is primarily to organize this gender credentialing system, which has been determined by senior management as a high-priority need for UNICEF, with members of the internal Gender Credentialing Task Team so as to enhance the gender expertise of dedicated gender specialists, sectoral gender specialists and gender and sectoral gender focal points within UNICEF.
