The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, through the Tanzania Food and Nutrition Centre (TFNC) in collaboration with development partners, is finalizing the Micronutrient Survey (MNS) which is a component of the Tanzania Demographic and Health Survey/ Malaria Indicator Survey (TDHS/MIS) 2022 . The MNS includes an expanded set of micronutrient biomarkers assessments among women of reproductive age (WRA) and children under the age of five years – including Iron, vitamin A, vitamin D, folate, vitamin B12, and inflammatory markers; and at the population level, an assessment of the coverage of fortified foods (salt, edible oil, wheat, and maize flour).
