Under the technical supervision of the Programme Manager (HSS), UNICEF Pacific Multi-Country Office, Programme Specialists provide technical, managerial and operational leadership for Pacific Healthy Islands Transformation (PHIT) project activities in respective countries (Kiribati, Tonga and Tuvalu). They will act as UNICEF’s primary in-country coordinators, ensuring effective implementation of PHIT activities while maintaining coherence with UNICEF’s broader health and nutrition programming in each of the countries. The roles ensure effective delivery of UNICEF-supported PHIT outputs at country level, aligned with regional designs and supporting to the Centre of Excellence (COE) element for Primary Health Care (PHC) elements; strong partnerships with the Ministry of Health and Project Management Unit (PMU); oversight of local vendors, consultants, and technical partners; alignment of PHIT activities with UNICEF’s broader health and nutrition programming in each country; hands-on support to the PMU for monitoring and evaluation; and compliance with UNICEF policies and donor requirements.
The WASH Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the WASH programming process, through the application of theoretical and practical technical skills in researching, collecting, analyzing and presenting programme information while learning organizational rules, regulations and procedures to support the development, implementation and monitoring of the WASH output results of the Country Programme.
