The work undertaken by this consultancy will, thus, enable concrete violence prevention strategies that can be applied at the national level, strengthening the commitment to the protection and well-being of Brazilian children with respect to the country’s geographic, cultural, and socioeconomic diversity.
The hired consultant will be responsible for proposing and implementing a qualitative research methodology in Recife and Manaus, based on the formative research methodology carried out in Rio de Janeiro (which will be shared by UNICEF), expanding the scope of the initial diagnosis to include different geographic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and racial perspectives. The aim is to support culturally adapted interventions that respect regional specificities, promote child protection, and address social norms that perpetuate corporal punishment.
The primary purpose of this consultancy is to support the operationalization of the priorities set out in the Nutrition Strategy and the Programming Guidance for Nutrition in Middle Childhood and Adolescence.
The role will support effective and efficient knowledge management and communication, including supporting the documentation of best practices in countries working on the nutrition of this age group and organizing learning webinars. It will also manage UNICEF’s internal school-age children and adolescent nutrition site. Finally, the role will support resource mobilization and coordination with donors.
Senior Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Associates perform specialized activities pertaining to UNICEF’s ICT systems including desktop administration, server operations, hardware, and software. Specialized activities may include technical support in the testing and implementation of new application system releases, modules and functionalities and systems administration tasks. This is skilled work, which may include the provision of procedural leadership to more junior staff or serve as a focal point for a systems project.
