How can you make a difference?

Under the direct supervision of the Fundraising Specialist (Individual Giving), the Data Analytics Officer is responsible for all aspects of donor database management, donor data for donation processing, donor retention, acquisition, and donor data analysis and reporting. The incumbent will carry out thorough research and analysis, to have a better understanding of the market, our donors, and the effectiveness of the different fundraising strategies while supervising the processing of accurate and timely data and ensuring the integrity and consistency of the data in the different systems used by UNICEF. Leads the strategy in data management and CRMs intended for this purpose, responsible for automation, quality, regulation (PCI standards) and information security.

This includes the following responsibilities:

  1. Manage and perform data analysis, and retention, and lead analysis, and reporting of results, as per agreed key performance indicators and metrics of success in order to ensure decisions taken and strategies implemented are data-informed and data-driven.

• Develops sophisticated processes of data analysis and monitoring, to better understand the market, our donors and potential donors, and the fundraising strategies to support decision making.

• Develops accurate and specific reports and analysis of the market and the Brazil Country Office fundraising operation, looking for possible threats or opportunities and giving recommendations to decision makers.

• Performs market research and analysis.

• Develop complex reports and analysis of the data, tailoring campaigns and programmers to the right individual giving fundraising, achieving higher profitability.

• Proactively investigates and interrogates data to identify trends, opportunities and issues to advise the other decision makers on ways to increase performance and profitability.

• Defines specific reports on campaign performance to help decision making and investment opportunities.

  1. Responsible for main maintenance and development of data structures, dimensions and models to facilitate constant improvements in analysis and insights leading to more informed decision making

• Perform data generation and cleansing for telemarketing campaigns, reactive saving via telemarketing and email, and data importing and validation for billing processing.

• Defines and coordinates the implementation of database uploading & maintenance criteria and security and confidentiality procedures, as well as periodical database reporting to audit database integrity, correcting inconsistencies and making improvements where needed.

• Maintain database integrity by managing the integrity of donation payment data and ongoing development and implementation of the CRM.

• Ensures the adequate exportation and importation of donors’ records between UNICEF systems and selected suppliers and platforms, supervising the Data Base Assistant in the process to ensure the maintenance of clean and consistent data, and controls the segmentation of data according to the specific needs of the area.

  1. Supervise that all banking and collecting processes are delivered on time and are maximizing the monthly collection of donations.

• Supervises the charges of donors’ contributions and the importation and exportation from and to the data base and the banking systems and ensures that the banking processes calendar is updated.

• Monitors the bank processing success rate and reports to the Fundraising Specialist weekly. Implements improvements in the processes to maximize the success rates in monthly payment processes.

• Manage and perform the analysis of collected donor data and information and preparation of monitoring progress reports; draft changes in RM&P work plans relevant to acquiring individual donors and the identification of required budget, supplies and equipment.

  1. Lead the optimization, integration, and automation of RM&P processes and new technology development, ensuring consistency of the data.

• Supervises the Business Intelligence team, focused on delivering fundraising results according to the work plan.

• Promotes a “continuous improvement” culture throughout the entire Business Intelligence area and with partners.

• Provides effective leadership, including guidance for the development of an annual work plan, and timely annual performance appraisals and mid-year reviews.

• Maintains a healthy, respectful work environment within the Business Intelligence area.

• Cross-functional coordination

• Coordination and collaboration with other areas.

• Encourage and nurture an appropriate, fluent and effective bond with RM&P area and counterparts’ leaders, to access to key data.

  1. Ensure data back-up and data recovery plans are in place and up to date.
  2. Keep up to date with PM&P global plans, strategies guidelines and best practices to ensure all global best practices and key learnings are utilized and applied to the work being performed.
  3. Attend relevant workshops and meetings both internationally, regionally, and nationally as required.
  4. Provide customer support such as entertaining donor inquiries via mail, email, phone, social media, etc., and perform other related tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Education - University Degree in Systems, Engineering, Marketing Analysis, Information Technology or any other related field relevant to the post.
  • Experience – A minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in the field of business intelligence and data analysis, data management, and process management is required. Experience in a fundraising environment is desirable.
  • Language - Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Spanish and/or in Portuguese would be an asset.
