Digital Impact Division (DID) is at the heart of reshaping how UNICEF delivers lasting results for children. We are committed to harnessing the full potential of emerging digital technologies to advance UNICEF’s mission.  

DID works in close collaboration with regional Digital Impact teams and colleagues across headquarters divisions, regions, and country offices to leverage technologies and capabilities that accelerate progress on UNICEF’s goals, strengthen community resilience, and expand access to essential digital services and information.

The Strategic Enablers pillar is a core element of UNICEF’s Digital Impact Strategy 2026–2029, acting as the structural backbone of the division. The People & Culture Team plays a pivotal role in the strategy by developing a digitally skilled workforce through career pathways, continuous learning, and capacity-building initiatives to ensure UNICEF staff can effectively leverage emerging technologies and support digital transformation. 

The Talent Specialist will join our team to support the Digital Impact Division in strengthening its talent and learning ecosystem. The role acts as the focal point for all learning and development work for the Division, ensuring that learning initiatives are designed and delivered in a clear and practical way. It focuses on talent development, digital learning and knowledge management, including emerging technologies such as AI. The Specialist supports the development of the capabilities needed for digital impact and transformation across the digital impact community, working closely with the Global Learning Centre (GLC) and contributing to upskilling efforts for the Global Digital Advisors (TeamOne). He/she will support learning and talent development priorities by leveraging workforce and skills insights to inform succession planning and the design of learning pathways for future roles. He/she will work closely with chiefs, managers, Human Resources Business Partners, Subject Matter Experts, regional and country offices, principal Digital Advisors, as well as collaborating with GLC to ensure alignment and relevance.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

Minimum requirements:

  • Education: Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Human Resources Management, Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Learning and Development, Education, Knowledge Management, International Development, or any other relevant fields if complemented with Human-Centered Design, Design Thinking, Learning Technologies, Human Development and Growth and Coaching Certification.
  • Work Experience: At least 5 years of relevant work experience in Human Resources, Talent Development, Learning & Development, Organizational Development, experience designing and delivering blended, digital, and self-paced learning, needs assessment, learning experience design, learning and knowledge platforms usage, and any other related fields.
  • Skills

           Design and delivery of talent development and learning solutions using human centered design, instructional design, and adult learning principles across virtual and in person modalities;

           Stakeholder collaboration across functions and regions in multicultural environments;

           Facilitation, interpersonal skills, and clear communication to translate complexity;

           Data organization, analysis, and reporting to inform learning and talent decisions;

           Experience coordinating external learning vendors (for example Microsoft);

           Ideation and innovation.

  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.

Desirables:

         Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish);

          AI fluency and responsible use, including AI literacy and learning applications;

          Experience with digital learning and knowledge platforms such as LMS and SharePoint;

          SharePoint content management and knowledge curation;

          Experience working in international or UN system organizations;

          Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
