UNICEF is seeking an astute, analytical finance professional to support the planning, budgeting, implementation and monitoring of UNICEF programme to achieve results for every child in Jamaica.
The main objective of the assignment is to examine the applicability and validity of the 5 models stated above through:
1. Supporting companies to effectively implement and operationalize the proposed childcare models, in adjacent to developing operational manuals for each of the childcare models
2. Monitoring, validating, and documenting the piloting of the proposed models
The war in Ukraine has triggered the fastest growing refugee crisis since World War II. UNICEF is involved in the emergency response by supporting the national government and local partners in delivering assistance and protection services.
1. Cash Transfer programme and operational workflows are coordinated to ensure timely programme delivery
2. Risk informed project plans are in place
3. Risk mitigation measures impacting on UNICEFS reputation, in addition to fiduciary, governance, data protection, social and others are monitored and updated and shared with relevant stakeholders to ensure accountability for risks are adhered to
4. Effective working relationships with internal and external counterparts are kept maintained for advocacy, technical coordination, information sharing and knowledge networking.
5. Required programme/project reports are timely prepared and shared with relevant stakeholders as required in compliance with the established guidelines and procedures.
6. Emergency preparedness is maintained, and in emergencies, emergency responses with effective coordination are provided and in line with the Core Commitments for Children (CCCs) in Humanitarian Action,
7. Other assigned duties and responsibilities are effectively accomplished

GBV, including conflict-related sexual violence as well as sexual exploitation and abuse, is a long-standing issue in DRC: from January to September 2020, 45,000 cases of GBV were declared in the DRC. Among women and girls aged 15 to 49, almost 30% have been sexually abused and 16% among teenage girls aged 15 to 19, were mainly abused in the private and family sphere. Emergency situations further exacerbate GBV risks.
