This role will assist Ukraine UNICEF office to develop, implement and monitor effective and engaging programs on young people engagement and participation across sectors. Under the leadership of Chief ADAP Section the role will support the development and implementation and monitoring of youth participation strategies, partnerships management, and capacity building.
Under the general guidance of the Chief, SBC Section and in close coordination with
Sectoral and Cross-Sectoral Specialists and Officers, contributes to/responsible for the design, management, monitoring and evaluation of evidence-based, inclusive and innovative SBC strategies in support of the country programme. UNICEF Ukraine country programme 2025-2029 is built around key leadership areas, namely Better Start, Better Learning and Skills and Better Care with inclusion of children/persons with disabilities; and mental health and psychosocial support cutting across all these areas, thus, the incumbent will be expected to provide significant contributions to these cross-cutting themes.
Under the supervision and guidance of the supervisor, the senior programme associate supports the respective section by carrying out a range of programme support functions to help develop, implement and monitor the country programme, ensuring effective and timely delivery that is consistent with UNICEF rules and regulations.
The Senior Programme Associate works in close collaboration with a range of staff in the office, external partners and agency counterparts in support of programme design and delivery. S/He provides regular feedback on the status of projects through monitoring milestones and advises on improvements to keep activities on track.
Under the general guidance of the supervisor, the Social Policy Specialist is responsible for supporting the programme management, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of all stages of social policy programming and related advocacy, from strategic planning and formulation to the delivery of concrete and sustainable results. This includes leading the development and implementation of a project management approach for the Social Recovery Office and ensuring team members are effectively utilizing associated tools and methodologies. The role also encompasses coordinating and delivering timely and accurate reporting, including donor reports and SPIRIT programme updates. This includes programmes aimed at improving (a) public policies to reduce child poverty; (b) social protection coverage and impact on children; (c) the transparency, adequacy, equity and efficiency of child-focused public investments and financial management; and (d) governance, decentralization and accountability measures to increase public participation and the quality, equity and coverage of social services.
