The purpose of this consultancy is to facilitate a strategic planning process that:
• Examines the current and emerging needs of child protection in humanitarian action sector;
• Identifies trends, opportunities, risks, and challenges likely to shape the sector over the coming years;
• Assesses the Alliance's achievements, strengths, limitations, and comparative advantage, of which data/findings also contribute to donor reporting;
• Defines the Alliance's future role and strategic positioning within the broader humanitarian ecosystem;
• Builds consensus among Alliance stakeholders regarding future priorities and strategic directions;
• Engage with the Alliance technical group leadership to think through the linkage between the new strategy and the implementation plan; and
• Produces a validated strategic framework, to guide the Alliance's work from 2027 for a period of 3 to 5 years.
UNICEF, through the Centre of Excellence for WASH, Sustainable WASH Innovation Hub and in collaboration with Country Offices, is supporting the development of a Sanitation Programme Facility (SPF) to accelerate access to safely managed sanitation services to households.
This assignment will therefore focus on a desk-based analytical exercise, synthesizing available evidence into a coherent, actionable framework to support decision-making.
Under the overall supervision and guidance of the Chief of the Investigations Unit, and based in Nairobi, the Investigation Manager carries out investigations into allegations of fraud, abuse of authority, mismanagement, harassment, sexual harassment, sexual exploitation and abuse and/or retaliatory actions in or affecting UNICEF, and makes recommendations for corrective action and improved controls. The incumbent also provides day-to-day management and technical oversight, including through matrix management arrangements, of specialist investigative capacity as assigned.
