The Education section of UNICEF Innocenti - Global Office of Research and Foresight is seeking a remote-based consultant for an estimated 130 working days to support building implementation research into inclusive digital learning programmes. The innovations in education research portfolio embeds implementation research into large-scale and cross-country innovative partnerships and programmes, these innovations include digital learning, low tech, and no tech solutions. The overall aim of the research portfolio is to inform improvements in innovations in education delivery to improve all children’s learning, and to synthesize lessons across countries to build global public goods.
The implementation research consultant will support the implementation of education research on innovative education programmes in four countries across multiple regions (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and Mexico).
The main purpose of the assignment is to embed research into innovations in education programmes across multiple regions. Participatory mixed-methods research will focus on testing innovations in education programmes with an aim to synthesize global lessons on how to best harness innovative education practices (including but not limited to digital learning) across contexts worldwide.
The Private Sector Fundraising and Partnerships Section (PSFP) within the UNICEF Division of Private Fundraising and
Partnerships (PFP) works with National Committees and UNICEF Country Offices to maximize revenue and drive income
growth. Inside PSFP, the Virtual Hub is an incubator serving as the digital function of 16 markets across MENA, ECARO
and Singapore but also as the testing ground for new technologies, marketing channels and other types of innovation. The vision is to become the largest and most successful non-profit digital fundraising program in the world.
To fully support MICS planning, implementation and dissemination activities, UNICEF HQ needs to hire a high-level sampling consultant to advise on sampling related issues, provide feedback on data analysis including the calculation of sample weights, and report writing by reviewing sampling related components of the survey final reports.
The Public Partnerships Division’s International Financial Institutions Team supports UNICEF’s work by managing partnerships with International Financial Institutions including the World Bank Group, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and Regional Development Banks, some of UNICEF’s most important and multi-faceted external partnerships.
UNICEF is scaling up its partnerships with IFIs – resulting in strategic and operational partnerships in every region in over 50 countries as well as mobilizing over $1 billion in resources annually. This consultancy will support the expanding work of the PPD IFIs team, by providing strategic partnership and IFI expertise to refine UNICEF’s engagement.
