UNICEF Pacific is in search of a dedicated and proactive international consultant, which will office-based in Majuro, RMI to carry out the technical support and regular dialogues with government counterparts and UNICEF. The office will provide a space for the consultant at UN Joint Presence Office for a duration of 22 months, meanwhile the financial proposal of the consultant should include all related travel, including eight (8) in-country travel to complete the deliverables. For duty travel outside RMI, consultant will be reimbursed on actual travel cost and DSA at UN official rate. Estimated travel cost will be added in the contract and the consultant will be paid on actual based on approved travel.
UNICEF is therefore undertaking this consultancy with the aim of developing a comprehensive programme strategy focused on construction management, that ensures that construction projects align with UNICEF's priorities and meet its standards for quality, efficiency, and sustainability, and environmental and social safeguards.
Objectives of the Consultancy
Objective 1: Conduct a review, to determine the strategic direction for UNICEF’s construction activities and articulate the necessary support to Country Offices.
Objective 2: Establish a framework to support Country Office construction projects, including a programmatic strategy aligned with organizational goals, risk approach, accountabilities, and resources.
Objective 3: Using the results of the strategic review (above), enhance guidance for country offices to support business case development and detailed planning for construction projects

The Nutrition Specialist supports the development and preparation of the nutrition programme and is responsible for managing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting the programme progress of a sector of the nutrition programme within the country programme. The Nutrition Specialist provides technical guidance and management support throughout the programming processes to facilitate the administration and achievement of concrete and sustainable results in nutrition-sensitive interventions including value chain aspects for first foods. An emphasis will be put on dialogue with government and other actors particularly the private sector for the integration of nutrition into systems ( health, agriculture/ food systems, social protection, WASH & climate change and education), community and households’ resilience, community engagement, gender and women empowerment.
