To strengthen risk management and implementing partnership practices across UNICEF’s MENA region by advancing the sanctions workstream, developing practical compliance and audit-informed guidance, supporting engagement with Supreme Audit Institutions, and strengthening country office delegated authority frameworks. The consultant will
work closely with the Risk Management Unit to ensure that country offices are equipped to meet evolving compliance requirements and audit expectations, manage sanctions-related risks through appropriate guidance and tools, and apply a consistent and risk-informed framework for SAI engagement where applicable.
Under the leadership of the Unit Chief and Senior Advisor, Nutrition Data, in the Data and Analytics Section and the Senior Nutrition Advisor, Child Nutrition and Development in Emergencies in Nairobi, this role will be the focal point for UNICEF’s global engagement on nutrition risk assessment, strengthening the use of nutrition data in emergency, supporting country teams to estimate the number of children at risk of wasting in humanitarian contexts, and enhancing UNICEF engagement in critical global food security initiatives (such as Integrated Phase Classification (IPC).
This consultancy is designed to establish a structured supervisory framework that strengthens both the capacity and the professional oversight of social workers. The national supervisory programme further ensures long-term sustainability while reducing the risk of subjective or inconsistent decision-making.
