The Government of Senegal has constructed a state-of-the-art office complex in Diamniadio—the Maison des Nations Unies (UN House)—available to the United Nations System under a formal Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). The UN portion of the complex spans approximately 38,000 m². Within this common premises framework, UN agencies in Senegal will pool administrative, IT and facility management services. As per the Common Premises MoU signed by the participating entities (including UNICEF), UNICEF is selected to manage the dedicated United Nations House Management Unit (UNHMU), to deliver these shared services.To ensure a seamless, high-efficiency transition for both the UNICEF Senegal Country Office (SCO) and the UNICEF West and Central Africa Regional Office (WCARO), UNICEF is recruiting a senior Project Manager (TA) to lead the move to the UN House and manage the transition in close collaboration with stakeholders from both SCO and WCARO.
The Child Protection Officer reports to Child Protection Specialist for supervision. The Child Protection Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for child protection programmes/projects within the Country Programme from development planning to delivery of results. Incumbent prepares, executes, manages, and implements a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluating and reporting.
The Vaccine Management and Cold Chain Logistics Specialist will support the Ministry of Health at provincial level to improve vaccine management, cold chain performance, coordination, and capacity building. Under the administrative supervision and technical guidance of the Immunization Supply Chain Manager in Kinshasa, the incumbent will also help strengthen UNICEF’s strategic engagement in provincial immunization and logistics coordination platforms.
The Nutrition Specialist is based at the UNICEF Field Office in Ambovombe and operates under a matrix management arrangement, reporting to the Nutrition Chief and the Chief of Field Office Ambovombe. In addition to managing the nutrition programme in the assigned area, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating nutrition interventions across the three regions of the Grand Sud (Androy, Anosy, and Atsimo-Andrefana), providing technical leadership and oversight to sub-national nutrition stakeholders and partners in these regions. The Nutrition Specialist supports the development and preparation of the nutrition programme and is responsible for managing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting the programme progress of a sector of the nutrition programme within the country programme. The Nutrition Specialist provides technical guidance and management support throughout the programming processes to facilitate the administration and achievement of concrete and sustainable results in maternal, infant and child nutrition programmes/projects. This is carried out according to plans, allocation, results based-management approaches and methodology (RBM), as well as UNICEF’s Strategic Plans, standards of performance, and accountability framework.The efficiency and efficacy of support provided by the Nutrition Specialist to the preparation, planning and implementation of nutrition programmes/projects contributes to and accelerates the national development efforts to improve the nutritional status of mothers, infants and children in the country. This in turn contributes to maintaining and enhancing the credibility and ability of UNICEF to continue to provide programme services to mothers and children that promotes greater social equity in the country.
Under the overall supervision of the Regional Data and Research manager and MICS Coordinator, the Regional Household Survey Consultant has the responsibility for supporting the preparation, implementation and quality assurance of survey processes as per MICS standards through provision of specialized technical assistance to the country and national counterparts.
