You are responsible for the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and administration of the Health and Nutrition programme within the country programme. Accountable for effective technical and programme support to facilitate the application and adaptation of UNICEF policies and strategies to achieve strategic priorities and objectives and expansion of UNICEF assisted Health and Nutrition interventions, including the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Under the guidance and supervision of the Regional Emergency Specialist (P4), establishes and implements emergency preparedness and response activities across the 24 Country Offices in West and Central Africa Region including through regular travel (50-75% outside of Dakar) and deployments to Country and Field Offices. Responsible for the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the emergency interventions to ensure the survival and well-being of children and mothers, and the affected communities in an emergency situation.
India Country Office is looking for an experienced Chief of Health responsible for managing and leading all stages of UNICEF’s engagement in child health and well-being in India, implemented through a network of 13 UNICEF Field Offices, from strategic planning and formulation to delivery of results. The Chief, Health leads and manages the Health Section and supports the broader UNICEF health network including establishing plans of action to achieve concrete and sustainable results according to plans, allocation, results based-management approaches and methodology (RBM), as well as UNICEF’s Strategic Plans, standards of performance, and accountability framework.
Under the supervision and guidance of the Deputy Regional Director for West and Central Africa, the programme associate supports the section by carrying out a range of programme support functions to help develop, implement and monitor their region, ensuring effective and timely delivery that is consistent with UNICEF rules and regulations. The Programme Associate works in close collaboration with a range of staff in the RO, external partners and agency counterparts in support of programme design and delivery. S/He provides regular feedback on the status of projects through monitoring milestones and advises on improvements to keep activities on track.
