UNICEF Pacific is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Operations Officer to join its team in Honiara, Solomon Islands, on a 364-day temporary appointment. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced operations professional to play a key role in enabling UNICEF’s work for children by providing strategic, risk-informed and solution-oriented operational support across finance, administration, supply and logistics, ICT, human resources, safety and security. Working closely with the Chief Field Office and the Deputy Representative, Operations, the successful candidate will help strengthen systems, support effective programme delivery, and lead a small operations team while championing UNICEF’s core operational pillars: Valuing People, Valuing Money, Valuing Risk Management, Valuing Systems and Structures, and Valuing Partners.
UNICEF, through the Centre of Excellence for WASH, Sustainable WASH Innovation Hub and in collaboration with Country Offices, is supporting the development of a Sanitation Programme Facility (SPF) to accelerate access to safely managed sanitation services to households.
This assignment will therefore focus on a desk-based analytical exercise, synthesizing available evidence into a coherent, actionable framework to support decision-making.

However, the country remains at risk of the re-emergence of circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus (cVDPV). Despite the official interruption of cVDPV1 transmission declared by the WHO African Region in May 2025, surveillance and population immunity indicators have continued to show significant vulnerabilities in several districts of the country.
The Consultant will identify and cultivate strategic partnerships aligned with YuWaah's priorities, develop compelling partnership propositions and engagement materials, and support the advancement of opportunities across corporates, foundations, philanthropies, and other ecosystem partners.
