Under the supervision of the Nutrition Manager, the consultant will support the review and finalisation of the IYCF- policy and guidelines, operationalisation of the IMAM Guidelines and finalisation of the IYCF-E Operational Guide by developing the associated tools of trade which include amongst others, capacity building materials. The consultant will also support the National Department of Health during the orientation sessions in Provinces.
The purpose of this assignment as part of UNICEF and Africa CDC Joint Action Plan is to facilitate the development of Africa CDC’s Continental immunization Strategy (CIS). The Strategy will guide Africa CDC’s role in the collective efforts of countries and stakeholders to accelerate immunization coverage and prevent outbreaks of vaccine preventable diseases. It aims to leverage Africa CDC's unique mandate to help countries build resilient health systems through a robust PHC platform. The strategy will also serve as a tool for resource mobilization for immunization. A roadmap and a monitoring and accountability framework will be developed to guide and track progress in the implementation of the CIS.
The Multi-Annual Global and Regional Programmes (MAGRP) for HQ and regional engagement under PROSPECT 2.0 is centered around three key strategic priorities: Inclusion, School-to-Work Transition, and Protection. Over the course of four years (2024-2027), MAGRP aims to guide global and regional programming, policy discussions, and learning initiatives. These activities are closely aligned with the aforementioned strategic priorities and correspond with the PROSPECTS Theory of Change, which is structured around four pillars, with the fourth pillar dedicated to ‘Critical Infrastructure.’
