The UNICEF Papua New Guinea Country Office is recruiting an engaged national consultant in charge of knowledge management of UNICEF WASH interventions and documentation of funding and expenditures in WASH sector in PNG.
UNICEF’s work in the area of data analysis highlights trends and emphasizes patterns found within the data and suggests how these data can be used strategically to inform evidence-based policy and programmatic efforts. The results of UNICEF’s data analysis work appear in its flagship publications as well as data-driven thematic reports, articles, brochures, documents and other dissemination materials.
Toward this end, the Child Protection and Development Unit (CPD) within the Data and Analytics Section produces data and knowledge products on key thematic issues pertaining to child protection, early childhood development (ECD), children with disabilities and adolescents.
There is an ongoing requirement for the production of high-quality data packages that include data processing, tabulating findings, assessing data quality, and trends on various thematic topics covered by the CPD data team. The primary source of this data will be household surveys such as MICS and DHS, but there may, on occasion, other types of data sources requiring data processing and/or analysis such as censuses. The end products will be disseminated through various channels, including the data warehouse, data.unicef.org, and data-driven publications.
The consultant under the overall guidance of the WASH Officer will support the development of Eritrea’s SCAP 2025–2030, ensuring alignment with national priorities and UNICEF’s global framework, with a strong focus on child-centered climate adaptation and mitigation. Use existing evidence, including CLAC and national climate documents, to inform programming. Initiate the Climate, Children and Environment Strategy (CCES), advise on integrating climate actions across sectors, and strengthen partnerships with key ministries. Facilitate a multi-sectoral workshop to build consensus, lead SCAP finalization with an implementation and M&E framework, and develop a climate financing strategy for UNICEF Eritrea.
L'UNICEF a pris l'initiative de programmer l'adaptation au secteur de l'eau, de l'assainissement et de l'hygiène (EAH) d'un outil qui a déjà fait ses preuves dans le domaine de la santé : l'outil « Maturité de la chaîne logistique ». Cet instrument permet de diagnostiquer et d'évaluer les chaînes d'approvisionnement liées aux médicaments d'urgence, aux vaccins et aux compléments alimentaires. Il s'adresse principalement aux gouvernements et aux agences de développement en tant qu'outil stratégique et de programmation. Il a déjà été mis en oeuvre dans 35 pays, dont Madagascar en 2022-2023. Sa mise en oeuvre est soutenue par une plateforme en ligne qui sert de support à la diffusion des résultats et à la comparaison entre les pays. Cet objectif correspond à un appui à l’étape 6. Cette étude rentre en ligne avec le plan IMERP 2025 de la section WASH et a pour but de retracer tout le processus et la méthodologie de cette initiative d’adaptation de l’outil Maturity Model au secteur EAH. Cette étude permettra d’évaluer cette initiative et en souligner les défis et opportunités
Under the supervision of the Chief of Child Protection, the Consultant will support the Child Protection programme of UNICEF Sri Lanka Country Office in providing high-level technical expertise to the Government of Sri Lanka in developing family-based care options under the alternative care policy framework, developing responses to most prominent drivers of institutionalization and provide support for enhancing family strengthening methodologies and services. The consultant will be particularly instrumental in conducting feasibility analyses for the establishment of foster care in Sri Lanka and supporting various provinces in identifying family-type care options
