Under the supervision of the Chief of Child Protection, the Consultant will support the Child Protection programme of UNICEF Sri Lanka Country Office in providing high-level technical expertise to the Government of Sri Lanka in developing family-based care options under the alternative care policy framework, developing responses to most prominent drivers of institutionalization and provide support for enhancing family strengthening methodologies and services. In 2025, UNICEF released a report highlighting significant progress in civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS) across sub-Saharan Africa, with over 60 million children under the age of five having their births registered over the past five years. While this achievement is commendable, it also draws attention to the urgent challenge that remains: an estimated 60 million children are still unregistered, with the highest concentration—43 million—residing in Eastern Africa.
The Administrative Assistant/Driver for the Termez Outpost is accountable for communications, operational and secretarial support services to enhance the smooth running of the team and its workflow. At the same time, he or she will provide reliable and safe driving services, demonstrating the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, integrity, sense of responsibility, excellent knowledge of protocol whilst ensuring compliance with local driving rules and regulations.
This consultancy seeks a national consultant to work for UNICEF Sri Lanka in close support of the Ministry of Education and other partners to provide technical support that helps advance: 1) developing the Climate Resilient Education Framework and 2) designing, testing, monitoring and documenting the pilot programme on Climate Smart Schools to inform further improvements to the Framework.
The consultant will be responsible for the implementation of the GBV programme. S/he will undertake the organization and facilitation of capacity building initiatives, monitoring and consultations with UNICEF partners and beneficiaries until the GBV Specialist (NOB) is recruited, expected to be finalized by January 2025.
