Under the direction of the Senior Evaluation Specialist (head of impact evaluation and methods), the multi-country impact evaluation specialist will identify opportunities to a) increase coverage of impact evaluations in the thematic areas of child protection and gender; and b) provide technical leadership in implementing the Impact Catalyst Fund’s multi-country thematic window/windows. Working collaboratively with the evaluation team in UNICEF Regional office in East and South Africa (ESAR), UNICEF country offices, and other UN partners based in Nairobi, the incumbent will support planned and ongoing impact evaluations, contribute to strengthening institutional and national capacities in impact evaluations, and lead on scale-up of innovative approaches in rigorous impact evaluations in fragile and humanitarian settings.
The Supply Officer reports to the Deputy Representative Operations. The Supply Officer provides technical and operational support and is responsible for managing the supply chains of country office. The supply chain operations include planning, procurement, contracting, as well as monitoring of supplies, services and construction works. The incumbent supports management collaboration with programmes in defining supply interventions to meet programmatic needs and achieve results for children, and provides technical and advisory support to governments, national systems and partners on supply chain management.
As the national curriculum strengthening process unfolds, there is a need for the DBE to engage a broad range of stakeholders, both within the education sector and beyond at various levels to enable the implementation of the curriculum strengthening plan. The Curriculum System Strengthening (CSS) Integrated Implementation Plan and Communications Strategy will be developed to proceed with adequate information sharing and consensus building, with adequate monitoring and learning from the implementation. Reference may be made to the brief and draft Communications Strategy developed in 2023/2024.
The work targets across programmes and initiatives in the basic education system – including the Three Stream Model (TSM), in line with the overall strategic imperatives of Curriculum Strengthening.
