Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and mothers during emergencies? UNICEF is looking for a dedicated Emergency Specialist to join our team and in Qamishli/Syria to lead our emergency preparedness and response efforts.
Under the supervision of the Chief Advocacy and Communications, the Advocacy and Communications Specialist will support the communication and advocacy team and the whole country office in advancing the rights of children and young people and placing it in the heart of national agenda. Mobilize support and investment to meet the needs and well-being of children and young people, particularly as the country navigates a critical phase of early recovery and reconstruction.
UNICEF is implementing the IPA2020 project, funded by EU, which includes the development of a digital system for child disability assessment and referral in the FBiH. Following the introduction of this reform, Ministries have allocated budgets and identified local/cantonal institutions as hubs for newly established full-time Assessment Teams. To enhance the efficiency of the new system, which requires referrals to multiple local social service providers, it must be transitioned to a digital platform with several key functionalities. A critical aspect of this system is the monitoring and reporting on the trends and needs of children with disabilities and their families, which will be used for more effective and efficient social service planning and delivery.
The Market Development Specialist will support UNICEF Supply Division and Giga to implement a market acceleration strategy to create a more efficient school connectivity market. This role will help develop the demand for Giga’s procurement & market shaping tools that aim to help governments massively scale their ability to connect schools and health centers to the internet. To achieve this, the consultant will develop partnerships with governments, cultivate collaboration opportunities with multilateral organizations, and advocate for improved access to connectivity for schools and health centers. Market intelligence and research will be developed to help design and implement a market development strategy that creates a healthy pipeline of countries working alongside UNICEF’s procurement teams to close the digital divide affecting schools and health centers in low-income countries.
The Knowledge Management & Country Office Support Consultant will play a pivotal role in driving UNICEF’s innovation strategy and capacity building agenda by capturing, curating, and supporting the adoption and scale up of cutting-edge insights, best practices and lessons learned. This role will develop and manage dynamic knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen overall programmatic support to countries as well as foster partnerships with key local and global innovation partners. The Consultant will also identify high-impact funding opportunities, forge strategic partnerships with donors, private sector partners, academic institutions and development agencies, and craft compelling proposals that unlock new investments in innovation.
