As a key partner of in Primary Health Care Particularly Immunization UNICEF has the mandate to provide technical assistance to the country through advocacy, coordination, planning implementation, and monitoring of health programmes. The Nutrition Specialist supports the development and preparation of the nutrition programme and is responsible for managing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting the programme progress of a sector of the nutrition programme within the country programme. The Nutrition Specialist provides technical guidance and management support throughout the programming processes to facilitate the administration and achievement of concrete and sustainable results in maternal, infant and child nutrition programmes.
This position is part of the UNICEF Afghanistan Polio SBC Team based in Kabul and will directly report to SBC Manager. This position will also collaborate closely with M&E team based in Kabul. The Polio SBC Team is central to UNICEF's efforts in ensuring that communities across Afghanistan continue to demand and accept the polio vaccine. The team promotes vaccine acceptance, proactively sharing information via in-person and digital channels, developing innovative solutions, and building long-term access to health information in the physical and digital realms.
The Finance Manager reports to the Deputy Representative - Operations for general direction and guidance. The manager is responsible for providing support to the senior management team of the country office as well as to programme section chiefs where required in managing, monitoring and overseeing the full range of financial services in support of programme and operational activities (i.e. financial planning, disbursements of funds and payments, treasury and accounting, financial analysis and reporting of resources), advising on and managing the financial issues associated with cash disbursement programmes, Operations budgetary management, ensuring the compliance of all financial operations with organizational plans, policies, procedures, guidelines, standards of performance, ethics, and integrity.
