The Education Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for education programmes/projects within the Country Programme from development planning to delivery of results, preparing, executing, managing and implementing a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluating and reporting.
UNICEF is looking for three (3) professional Program Specialists who will oversee the implementation of a multi-sectoral program designed to support youth to pursue continued education, skilling, and earning pathways in the conflict-affected woredas in different regions of Ethiopia. The Specialist will ensure synergy across different sectors at UNICEF (Education, Nutrition, WASH, SBCC, and Social Policy), coordinate with partners (including the private sector), and monitor the progress to achieve the program’s objectives.
The Program Specialist will be stationed in one of the UNICEF offices at Semera, Bahirdar, or Mekelle.
You will be responsible not only for executing targeted client support services to offices in both development and humanitarian contexts across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region but also for supporting the Regional Chief of People and Culture and senior management in instituting staff sustainable support measures within the existing policy framework and support mechanisms. You are expected to develop original and innovative strategies to address highly complex HR case management issues that deviate from established norms and share lessons learnt with the Humanitarian and Policy teams in the Division of People and culture.
