The Public Partnerships Division (PPD) works to strengthen UNICEF’s position as a partner of choice for children’s right among governments and public actors around the world. The intern will acquire direct practical experience in PPD Tokyo’s work and the United Nations system by supporting the office’s quality assurance, analysis/research, and administrative tasks related to resource mobilisation with the Government of Japan activities under the general guidance of the supervisors (Public Partnership Specialist as direct supervisor under the overall guidance by Senior Advisor).

The Assistant will directly support the Serbian Commissariat for Refugees and Migration in their responsibilities related to the migration data collection, analysis and reporting, and more concretely in ensuring migration data management practices, structures and products are sensitive to the needs of children and include gender, and age-disaggregated information. The primary objective is to support enhancing the quality and accuracy of migration data with a specific focus on the well-being and circumstances of children.

The technical support for the selected consultant will include: assess healthy food environments in primary and secondary schools, provide policy recommendations on improving the environments; review and revise the policy proposals for introduction of healthy school meals/snacks in primary and secondary schools and enhancing nutrition outcomes for school-children, developed within an UNICEF analysis on introduction of the European Child Guarantee in the country; provide technical support to the Ministry of Health and or Ministry of Education in North Macedonia for the drafting of school food policy briefs and advocacy materials for improving the school food environment.
