The Advocacy Section within the Division of Global Communication and Advocacy (DGCA) is in need of an Advocacy Specialist who will be responsible for developing and implementing a global advocacy strategy for the Human papillomavirus (HPV) and for girls’ health. The role will work closely with programme teams in HQ and will support priority country and regional offices to ensure their advocacy strategies are positively influencing policies on HPV & girls health. The position will also develop a capacity building strategy to advance the advocacy skills of relevant colleagues in these countries.
UNICEF PG/Immunization seeks the services of the individual consultant who will work under the supervision of the Senior Health Advisor and Lead of Immunization Strategy and Management and in close consultation with the Senior Health Advisor (BCU focal point) in Coverage and Equity unit, as well as various BCU focal points in PG Health, DAPM, SD, to fulfill the scope of work as described below.
The objective of this consultancy is continuing the systematization of Super Panas experiences and activities implemented in Schools (or another name proposed for the project in agreement in the local government) through a partnership with municipalities education department, strengthening the capacities of municipal schools to implement educational methodologies that take into account local multiculturalism, recomposition of learning in portuguese language , containing sufficient information and documentation.
Contribute to developing guiding instruments for the improvement and/or replication of experiences in other schools and/or emergency contexts, including their conversion into public policies; and develop guidelines for training courses for local education professionals who work in the emergency context.
