The Gender Programme Specialist (P-4) position in Madagascar is primarily focused on providing technical and operational guidance to manage and implement programs aimed at promoting gender equality, in alignment with UNICEF's Gender Action Plan (GAP). The specialist supports senior programme colleagues and Country Office management in advancing the GAP's priorities, including issues such as climate change, adolescent girls, and inclusive programming. The role involves coordinating cross-sectoral gender-related programmatic results, ensuring coherence, and maximizing the efficiency of resources. The specialist is also responsible for mainstreaming gender across sectoral programs, overseeing data collection, and generating research and evaluations on gender programming to ensure results are effectively measured and reported.
In addition to technical responsibilities, the specialist plays a key role in assessing gender needs for emergency preparedness and response, providing gender-specific guidance and input in emergency programming.
