As part of the operational capacity support to SCO Operations section, a Humanitarian Cash Transfers Manager provides technical assistance in the design and implementation of large cash transfer interventions. The technical ability of the Cash Transfer Manager will focus on documenting programmatic requirements and objectives to be served by the CIU, guiding coherent design of program interventions considering delivery requirements, alignment of cash intervention design with established CIU operating procedures and strategic focus, and translation of programmatic technical requirements into operational delivery needs to be serviced by CIU.

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is facing a worsening outbreak of Mpox (formerly known as monkeypox), which has become a serious public health crisis. In December 2022, the Ministry of Public Health, Hygiene and Prevention (MSPHP) declared Mpox a national epidemic following a surge in cases. By the end of 2022, the DRC had reported 5,677 suspected cases and 213 deaths (3.7% case fatality rate). The situation worsened in 2023, with 14,626 cases and 654 deaths (4.46% case-fatality rate), and the trend has continued in 2024, with 38,185 reported cases, 8,607 confirmed cases and 1,049 deaths so far.
The MICS (Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys) Programme is seeking a remote-based consultant to support MICS data processing activities specifically in the Pacific region. This consultancy will provide targeted technical assistance to the MICS data processing teams in Tonga, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Kiribati, Samoa, and Tuvalu, each of which is conducting MICS this or next year. The consultant will offer both on-site and remote support to the technical teams at the National Statistical Offices in these countries.
