UNICEF Uzbekistan seeks a qualified National Individual Consultant with relevant expertise in neonatal health, public health, or maternal and child health. The consultant will play a key role in strengthening the implementation of the program across all perinatal centers in Uzbekistan and supporting national partners in improving neonatal care services.
Under the supervision of the Programme Manager (Level 4), the WASH Officer provides technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for WASH programmes/projects within the country programme from development planning to delivery of WASH output results. The Officer prepares, manages and implements a variety of technical and administrative tasks, related to the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and reporting
Under the supervision of the Regional Adviser, Sustainability and Climate Section, ECARO and CEED Specialist, UNICEF Tajikistan, the consultant will be responsible for the implementation of the following tasks and delivering the specified outputs. This assignment requires active consultation and close collaboration with various UNICEF sections of Central Asian Country Offices to ensure alignment with organizational goals and integration of expertise across relevant areas. The consultant will work closely with sector specialists to gather insights, validate findings, and ensure that the deliverables comprehensively address climate change education, as well as potential strategies for resilience and adaptation in Tajikistan.
The purpose of this consultancy is to provide engineering services for the design, implementation, supervision, training, and monitoring of ongoing and planned infrastructure rehabilitation projects. These include the rehabilitation of water access systems (such as pipelines, pumping stations, and water treatment plants) the construction of small-scale water access points, and the rehabilitation of healthcare facilities and schools.
The primary objective of these interventions is to ensure access to basic Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) service levels in accordance with the Joint Monitoring Programme (JMP) standards, while promoting climate resilience and ensuring the safety and dignity of all users and workers.
