The Social Policy team contributes to UNICEF’s strategic results on the reduction of child poverty, social protection and public finance. Its main aim is to support country offices. This post will support specific Goal Area 5 Strategic Plan results to improve access to inclusive social protection systems and reduction of child poverty through increasing coverage and financing of social protection systems for children.
UNICEF is leading the development of this assignment as part of a joint initiative with the Regional Interagency Technical Team on Universal Health Coverage (UHC RITT). The analysis requires a substantial commitment within a short timeframe, which would overextend existing staff who are already managing ongoing program responsibilities. To ensure both quality and timely delivery, it is more appropriate and efficient to engage a short-term consultant with the necessary technical expertise. The consultant will work under the supervision of in-house health economists to ensure the final product meets high technical standards and aligns with the expectations of key stakeholders and potential funders.
UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office is seeking an individual consultant to strengthen national information systems for child protection case management, providing specific technical support to Lao PDR, Mongolia, Timor-Leste, Viet Nam, as well as technical support to UNICEF East Asia and the Pacific Regional Office and UNICEF
Headquarters.
UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office is seeking an individual consultant to identify and draw on available data and evidence to provide a regional specific overview of harmful and problematic sexual behaviours of under-18s in Southeast Asia, with a focus on tech facilitated behaviours, current approaches in the region, and a summary of evidence on what works to prevent harmful conduct and the escalation of behaviours in adolescent and adulthood. This region-specific desk-based background paper will be used to inform dialogue on guidelines, programme and policy development in the region.
Starting with 2016, UNCT Moldova has been implementing the Diversity Internship Program for men, women and persons of diverse gender identities, belonging to different marginalized groups (further referring as Diversity Internship Program). The aim of the internship is, on the one hand, to empower representatives of marginalized groups to further seek employment on the open labor market, and on the other hand to improve diversity within the UN System. The need for increased diversity was confirmed including during the latest 2019 internal UN Moldova Diversity and Equality survey, that identified underrepresentation of people from several groups among the UN staff, including persons with disabilities, Roma and other ethnic or linguistic minorities.
The initiative foresees that persons belonging to marginalized groups join as interns for a 4 - 6 months part-time assignment in different programs and projects of UN agencies, being guided by a mentor (staff member of the UN Agency). The assigned tasks in administration, operations, procurement, logistical, communications or programming areas usually differ and grow in their complexity, reflecting also the interns’ specific learning, personal and professional development needs.
