The Market Development Specialist will support UNICEF Supply Division and Giga to implement a market acceleration strategy to create a more efficient school connectivity market. This role will help develop the demand for Giga’s procurement & market shaping tools that aim to help governments massively scale their ability to connect schools and health centers to the internet. To achieve this, the consultant will develop partnerships with governments, cultivate collaboration opportunities with multilateral organizations, and advocate for improved access to connectivity for schools and health centers. Market intelligence and research will be developed to help design and implement a market development strategy that creates a healthy pipeline of countries working alongside UNICEF’s procurement teams to close the digital divide affecting schools and health centers in low-income countries.
The Knowledge Management & Country Office Support Consultant will play a pivotal role in driving UNICEF’s innovation strategy and capacity building agenda by capturing, curating, and supporting the adoption and scale up of cutting-edge insights, best practices and lessons learned. This role will develop and manage dynamic knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen overall programmatic support to countries as well as foster partnerships with key local and global innovation partners. The Consultant will also identify high-impact funding opportunities, forge strategic partnerships with donors, private sector partners, academic institutions and development agencies, and craft compelling proposals that unlock new investments in innovation.
The Capacity Development Lead will drive capacity building initiatives to help strengthen innovation capabilities across country and regional offices, equipping teams with the skills, knowledge, and systems needed to design, scale, and sustain impactful innovations for children. This role will focus on embedding innovation mindsets and methodologies within UNICEF’s programmes, fostering a culture of experimentation, and supporting government partners in integrating innovative approaches into key sectors. The Capacity Development Lead will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including academic institutions and private sector partners, to build capacity through the SPARK Accelerator, training programmes and strategic partnerships.
