UNICEF Mozambique is seeking a WASH Officer (NO-2) to join the Quelimane Field Office. The role focuses on water supply and WASH in institutions, supporting programme planning, implementation, monitoring, partnerships, and humanitarian response. Applicants should hold a university degree in civil engineering, hydrogeology, water engineering, or a related field, with at least two years of relevant professional experience. The Education Officer reports to the Education Specialist for close guidance and supervision. The Education Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for the education programmes/projects through the application of theoretical and technical skills in researching, collecting, analyzing and presenting technical programme information while learning organizational rules, regulations and procedures to support the development and formulation of the Education Programme within the Country Programme.
The post incumbent will provide technical support on activities under output 2 related to Equitable access to quality learning. The incumbent is responsible for supporting MoE in the implementation of interventions related to enhance access to and improve quality of education services at elementary, middle and secondary school levels in the country including in emergencies.
Lastly, the incumbent will provide technical support to outputs 1 and 3 as well as any other requirement needed for efficient operation of the Education and Learning Section. The post incumbent assists in the zoba level planning, implementation and monitoring of education projects.
Under the supervision of the Chief of section, the Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for education programs/projects within the Country Program from development planning to delivery of results, preparing, executing, managing and implementing a variety of technical and administrative program tasks to facilitate program development, implementation, program progress monitoring, evaluating and reporting.
The post incumbent is technical lead on activities under output 1 related to Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) and Early Childhood Development (ECD) The incumbent is responsible for supporting MoE in the implementation of interventions related to enhance access to and improve quality of ECCE and ECD services in the country including in emergencies. Further, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating the section’s work on Social Behavior Change Communication (SBCC). Lastly, the incumbent will provide technical support to outputs 2 and 3 as well as any other requirement needed for efficient operation of the Education and Learning Section.
