The Strategic Planning and Corporate Analysis (SPCA) unit within the Division of Data, Analytics, Planning, and Monitoring (DAPM) is leading preparation of the two flagship document suites. The team is seeking for professional support in drafting and editing of the respective materials in compliance with the UNICEF style, including highest quality editorial and communication standards, and in line with the submission timelines.
The purpose of this assignment is to provide technical assistance in designing, managing, implementing, monitoring, and reporting the progress of education programmes in partnership with national counterparts, regional partners, colleagues, and other partners, and in line with federal and regional priorities.
Under the overall guidance and direction of the Chief of Field office (NO-D) and in consultation with the Chief of Learning and Development (P5), the Specialist will support the Education Programme by working across the Access, Quality and Skills outcome areas which focus improving universal access to and equitable and inclusive primary, pre-primary, secondary and alternative skills development learning programmes for out-of-school children and adolescents and ensuring quality and relevance in education, including foundational learning, relevant pedagogical approaches.
Primarily, the Education Specialist will provide technical guidance, programme development and planning, programme implementation, coordination, monitoring, resource mobilization, advocacy as well as innovation, knowledge management and capacity building support all with the aim of contributing to improved learning outcomes, especially for disadvantaged and vulnerable children and adolescents in the region. The Specialist will also collaborate cross-sectoral as relevant on issues related to, gender, education in emergencies, protection, mental health, addressing social norms, climate resilience and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in Schools (WinS).
