In the context of public partnerships, Partnerships Risk Management is an organizational and strategic function that enables the division to anticipate, identify and mitigate risks associated with public sector funding to UNICEF, which amounted to over $6 billion in 2023.
Positioned within the Systems, Analytics, Risk, Planning and Operations (SARPO) team of PPD and under the supervision of the Partnerships Risk Specialist, the Partnerships Risk Management Intern will be an integral part of the Partnerships Risk team within PPD and contribute to the day-to-day operations, with a focus on tasks related to compliance and monitoring, donor agreements review and tracking of obligations from a public partnerships perspective, UNICEF knowledge management in the field of risk and related policies, and analytics. The internship offers a dynamic set of assignments and will provide exposure to the operations of UNICEF as an agency of the United Nations, with a specific focus on public partnerships risk management.
Under the general guidance of the chief of the section and the direct supervision of the planning and monitoring specialist, the Disability Inclusion Officer will ensure that UNICEF Burundi’s programmes are inclusive of children with disabilities, aligning with the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and UNICEF’s Disability Inclusion Policy and Strategy (DIPAS). The Officer will support the planning and design disability-inclusive programmes by recommending relevant interventions and indicators, reviewing partnership agreements, and supporting the establishment of dedicated partnerships focused on disability inclusion, including with organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs). Additionally, the Officer will enhance monitoring, evaluation/research, and reporting processes by promoting the collection of disaggregated data, ensuring evidence generating exercises, address disability inclusion, and tracking progress against the disability inclusion workplan. The Officer will also provide technical guidance and capacity-building support to UNICEF staff and partners while participating in inter-agency initiatives on disability inclusion.

Under the overall supervision and guidance of Quality Assurance, the intern will perform data analysis, take part in regular QA regular checks and deep dives, also the coordination and support functions of the QA team.
