An exciting and challenging opportunity is now available within the UNICEF Guinea-Bissau Country Office for a highly motivated and dedicated Deputy Representative, Operations (P-4). The Operations function is a strategic Business Partner role within the Senior Management Team, assuring the best use of UNICEF assets in alignment with sound management practices, office priorities and goals to deliver results for children. The function supports the Head of the Office on managing the office and monitoring operations and programmes as needed while providing advice on best and innovative management practices to enhance office performance.
Under the overall guidance of Country Office senior management and the direct supervision of the Deputy Representative, Programme, the Chief Social Policy will provide strategic and managerial leadership to the Social Policy Section. The incumbent will sustain delivery of priority results, quality-assure policy and programme work, manage risks and resources, and maintain effective engagement with government counterparts, development partners and UNICEF teams.
The assignment focus is to maintain programme and team continuity, unblock priority results, strengthen partner engagement, and position the Social Policy Section for an effective transition to the next country programme.
The Project Coordinator will provide technical, coordination, and administrative support to ensure timely and quality implementation of the Airtel Africa initiative for the West and Central Africa Regional Office. The consultant will act as the focal point between UNICEF regional and country offices, Airtel Africa’s group team, and national affiliates, supporting joint planning, monitoring, reporting, and communication efforts.
The Fada Field Office is located in eastern Burkina Faso and covers four regions: Nakambe, Goulmou, Tapoa and Sirba.The Fada Field Office will play a key role in advancing the objectives of the 2027–2030 Country Programme, which adopts geographic and demographic targeting as a key implementation approach. Covering the regions of Goulmou, Sirba, Tapoa, and Nakambé, areas that face some of the highest levels of child deprivation in the country, the Field Office will be central to ensuring that program interventions effectively reach the most vulnerable children and populations, thereby contributing to more equitable and impactful results.Given the public health and humanitarian challenges in the Area of Responsibility, the position requires strong capacity to lead multisectoral field programming, with expertise in health or public health. The incumbent will provide strategic oversight of interventions that strengthen access to essential health services, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health, immunization, disease prevention and surveillance, community health, emergency preparedness and response, while ensuring effective integration with nutrition, WASH, education, child protection and social policy.
