The incumbent will be accountable for providing technical leadership and support to programme innovations, implementation, and scaling to support the achievement of UNICEF priorities. Working closely with programme sections, the incumbent will interact across all sections in the UNICEF office and network closely with Government, UN, NGO, and private sector to mainstream innovation as a core change strategy across UNICEF programmes and operations. In addition, the incumbent will support programme innovations, research, and evidence generation to influence national investments, develop business cases for scaling innovations, and strengthen national systems.
The AAP/CFM officer will work under the Inter-Agency Complaints and Feedback Mechanism project funded by CERF. IA CFM aims to enhance Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) among humanitarian actors in Sudan by strengthening and expanding complaints and feedback mechanisms (CFM). It will be built on UNICEF’s established CFM channels to serve all sectors, clusters and response programmes in Sudan. Through the creation of an Interagency CFM, several channels (Face-to-face, offline/online) will be active such as Hotline, community Help desks, chatbot, and email to reach communities and overcome barriers such as literacy levels, cultural acceptance, language, and other contextual factors.
As a Strategic Business Partner, the Operations Manager will be accountable for operations functions, facilitate change, provide risk informed, solution-focused analysis, advice and services and contribute to programme and management decisions for delivering results for children in specific operational contexts.
UNICEF’s financial and administrative management operating environment is becoming increasingly dynamic and complex as the organization moves towards a governance, risk and compliance framework. Additionally, UNICEF’s funding sources are becoming more complex to record, manage, monitor and report on. With this comes more scrutiny from our donors and oversight bodies on how resources are managed.
The post of Chief Governance is a highly specialized role that leads the Governance Team Unit and is based in the National Committee Relations (NCR) Section in the Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) division. The incumbent's supervisor is the Deputy Director, National Committee Relations.
The Governance Team Unit, under the direction of the Chief, Governance, is responsible for supporting the NCR Section’s role and leads in the areas of the UNICEF - National Committee partnership framework and cooperation agreement, nonprofit governance, and (child) safeguarding in the PFP private sector and National Committee context, working in close partnership and collaboration with senior internal and external stakeholders, in particular with senior management and National Committee boards.
