UNICEF Malawi is seeking a highly experienced, proactive, and committed Deputy Representative, Operations at the P-4 level. The Deputy Representative Operations role functions as a strategic Business Partner within the Senior Management team, working closely with the Head of the Office to ensure optimal management of resources, operations, and programmatic activities. As UNICEF Malawi’s Deputy Representative Operations, you will be responsible for application of UNICEF’s global policies and implementing best practices in management and driving innovative approaches to enhance office performance. This role is essential for aligning UNICEF assets with sound management principles and practices, office priorities and goals, all with the ultimate aim of achieving meaningful and lasting results for children in Malawi.
The WASH Specialist reports to the Chief of WASH (Level 4) for guidance and general supervision. The Specialist supports the development, preparation, management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the WASH programme within the country programme. The Specialist provides technical guidance and management support throughout the programming processes, to facilitate the administration and achievement of the WASH-related output results in the country programme. The support provided by the WASH specialist will enable the country office to achieve the WASH-related output results of the country programme. This, in turn, will contribute to the achievement of the outcome results of the country programme document. When done effectively, the achievement of the outcome results will improve child survival, growth and development and reduce inequalities in the country.
Under the general supervision of the Chief Health Section, the Programme Budget Officer provide professional technical assistance and support for program design, planning and implementation, management and evaluation of program/project activities, analysis of funding data (allocation and expenditure) and reporting on the use of funds and their justification.
The purpose of this assignment is to provide technical assistance in designing, managing, implementing, monitoring, and reporting the progress of education programmes in partnership with national counterparts, regional partners, colleagues, and other partners, and in line with federal and regional priorities.
Under the overall guidance and direction of the Chief of Field office (NO-D) and in consultation with the Chief of Learning and Development (P5), the Specialist will support the Education Programme by working across the Access, Quality and Skills outcome areas which focus improving universal access to and equitable and inclusive primary, pre-primary, secondary and alternative skills development learning programmes for out-of-school children and adolescents and ensuring quality and relevance in education, including foundational learning, relevant pedagogical approaches.
Primarily, the Education Specialist will provide technical guidance, programme development and planning, programme implementation, coordination, monitoring, resource mobilization, advocacy as well as innovation, knowledge management and capacity building support all with the aim of contributing to improved learning outcomes, especially for disadvantaged and vulnerable children and adolescents in the region. The Specialist will also collaborate cross-sectoral as relevant on issues related to, gender, education in emergencies, protection, mental health, addressing social norms, climate resilience and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in Schools (WinS).
