The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer reports to the Chief, Child Health and Nutrition, for general guidance and supervision.
You will be responsible for providing a variety of specialized tasks in finance functions, ensuring accurate and timely delivery in compliance with UNICEF financial rules and regulations. You will also demonstrate the capacity to research, adapt, and evaluate irregular cases, as well as recommend improvements to process delivery and design.
In a small office like the Oman Country Office, this position fulfills crucial responsibilities in addition to the senior driver functions for the Representative. It supports the Procurement & Admin Assistant with various administrative activities, including visa processing, travel arrangement, customs clearance, office maintenance, and improvement among others.
UNICEF's Emergency Preparedness Platform (EPP) serves as the central online tool utilized by over 130 offices worldwide. Its primary role is facilitating preparedness planning and monitoring, thus fostering enhanced readiness for emergency response efforts. EPP guides UNICEF offices through a structured and standardized preparedness planning process, encompassing risk analysis, scenario definitions, and identifying necessary actions to prepare for an effective humanitarian response. Building on the successes of previous versions, the EPP 3.0 version aims to enable more efficient and accurate preparedness planning and monitoring, improved preparedness for response, enhanced collaboration and communication among team members, greater flexibility and accessibility for users, and the ability to analyze and utilize data for quick decision making. The Emergency Preparedness Specialist will during 60% of his/her time support EPP 3.0 platform development as Product Owner. He/she will represent RAPS and be accountable for the backlog and for the fluid liaison with ICTD and development teams on a daily/hourly basis. During the remaining 40% of his/her time, the Emergency Preparedness Specialist will support the work of the preparedness unit in ensuring notably the effective implementation of technical assistance related to preparedness in ROs and COs. Spearheading capacity-building initiatives for governments in priority countries, focusing on government preparedness/DRR together with Program Group and ROs will also be a priority working direction for the incumbent of the position.
As focal point of administrative management services in Field office, the incumbent is accountable for delivery of efficient and cost-effective administrative support services, providing guidance for operations of administrative support services and management of administrative staff. Ensures the office’s administrative operations and services are in compliance with the organization's administrative policy, procedures, rules and regulations.
