The UNICEF Malawi Country Office seeks a consultant to work in close collaboration with the Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) to provide technical support in operationalizing the DRM Act 2023 through strengthening disaster risk management institutions by conducting capacity gap assessments and Capacity building.
The consultant will ensure that capacity-strengthening initiatives enhance the functionality of the National Disaster Risk Management Committee (NDRMC) and District Disaster Risk Management Committees (DDRMCs), fostering timely, adaptive, and resilient disaster management systems that prioritize child protection and community resilience.
The Individual Consultant is expected to carry out this assignment on a home-based basis. Under the overall guidance of the UNICEF office in Armenia and the direct supervision of UNICEF Education Specialist, the consultant will be responsible for quality and timely implementation of the following activities in close cooperation with MoESCS National Analysis Team, OECD experts and other education stakeholders:
UNICE is looking for a professional consultant who can map government systems and structures that can be used to pursue accountability for SEAH violations committed by government staff, who can conduct Training of Trainers on PSEAH, Support the national PSEA Network to carry out information gathering for the sub-national SEA risk analysis, and who can support research project on staff barriers to reporting.
The consultant under the overall guidance of the WASH Officer will support the development of Eritrea’s SCAP 2025–2030, ensuring alignment with national priorities and UNICEF’s global framework, with a strong focus on child-centered climate adaptation and mitigation. Use existing evidence, including CLAC and national climate documents, to inform programming. Initiate the Climate, Children and Environment Strategy (CCES), advise on integrating climate actions across sectors, and strengthen partnerships with key ministries. Facilitate a multi-sectoral workshop to build consensus, lead SCAP finalization with an implementation and M&E framework, and develop a climate financing strategy for UNICEF Eritrea.
to seek professional, consultancy services to support with coordination, communication and advocacy efforts for community health and the Community Health Delivery Partnership (CHDP). The target audience includes governments, key private and public sector audiences, implementing partners and donors, and UNICEF regional and country offices. This workstream is closely linked with the broader goals and objectives of the CHDP and contributes to UNICEF’s renewed vision for community health and corporate priority on community action for better health and nutrition outcomes for vulnerable populations especially women and children.
This work is essential to advancing community health and nutrition related priorities by effectively documenting and communicating impact, advocating for countries’ priority needs in advancing and scaling community health and nutrition and showcasing UNICEF’s efforts to support countries in these efforts and protecting children’s right to health. As such, the consultant will produce communication and advocacy materials, enhance the visibility of countries’ and regional priorities for resource mobilization by developing fact sheets and keeping existing resources and materials up-to-date, and coordinate advocacy and communication work. She/he will also work in coordination with other teams/units in the MNCAH section to ensure complementary of efforts and linkages across workstreams and liaise with regional and country offices as well as external partners to ensure there is robust visibility around UNICEF’s work and that of the CHDP related to community health and nutrition.
