Under the supervision of the Regional Chief of Emergencies (REA), and in close collaboration with the Deputy Regional Director and Regional Director, the Emergency Specialist provides strategic and technical leadership to support emergency preparedness, response, humanitarian access, localization, and child rights in emergencies across the West and Central Africa Region.
Under the supervision of the DBSA Principal: Climate and Nature Finance, the Specialist (Seconded) will provide technical, financial and programme management support to the DBSA’s Climate and Nature Finance team for the design, operationalisation, fundraising and implementation of Biodiversity projects. The assignment specifically integrates youth economic participation, green skills development, digital credentialing and outcomes-based finance aligned with UNICEF’s Generation Unlimited (GenU).
This assignment aims to support and enhance UNICEF’s flagship digital learning platform, FunDoo, a chat-based life coach that helps young people develop 21st century and employability skills while accessing information on careers, mental health, climate change, and gender-based violence. The consultant will provide technical leadership for the RapidPro platform, manage dashboards and data systems, support global country deployments, develop and customize learning flows, strengthen analytics and backend infrastructure, and build the capacity of country teams to implement and scale FunDoo across multiple countries.
