Child wasting remains a persistent public health challenge in the Philippines, with low coverage of early identification and treatment services under the Philippine Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (PIMAM). While national policies and guidelines are in place, implementation gaps persist across service delivery, workforce capacity, data systems, supply chain reliability, and sustainable financing. The Child Nutrition Fund (CNF) Programme (2025–2029) supports the Government of the Philippines to accelerate reduction of wasting through five interlinked implementation components: 1. Improving access and uptake of nutrition services 2. Building a skilled and supported workforce 3. Strengthening nutrition data for action 4. Enabling reliable supply of essential nutrition supplies 5. Mobilising and optimizing nutrition financing Within this framework, UNICEF is supporting the nationwide scale-up of the PhilHealth SAM Outpatient Therapeutic Care (OTC) package, updating guidelines and capacities of service providers, strengthening PIMAM implementation across development and emergency contexts, and closing ongoing Simplified Approaches (SA) Operations Research, including Family MUAC and CHW-led treatment pilots. The Philippines through the Child Nutrition Fund channeled through UNICEF Philippines has committed to accrediting at least 2,011 primary health care facilities nationwide by 2029 under the PhilHealth SAM OTC package, alongside improvements in service utilization and admissions. Achieving these targets requires coordinated technical assistance that strengthens the wasting ecosystem across all five CNF components. This consultancy will therefore provide national technical support (capacity building, monitoring of program implementation, quality assurance, and documentation) to advance PIMAM scale-up across these components, while ensuring structured closure and policy translation of the Simplified Approaches Operations Research.
This assignment aims to support UNICEF and government partners in strengthening sanitation financing in Nepal by assessing financing opportunities and barriers, identifying sustainable financing mechanisms and partnerships, and developing practical approaches to mobilize and scale investments across the sanitation service chain, in line with the National Sanitation Flagship Programme (NSFP), the City-Wide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) approach, and national WASH priorities.
The purpose of this consultancy is to provide specialized technical support to UNICEF and relevant government institutions for groundwater assessment, monitoring, mapping, modelling, governance, and sustainable management. The consultant will support selected industrial water-management initiatives, strengthen technical standards and data systems, facilitate institutional coordination and knowledge transfer, and document scalable approaches for replication across Bangladesh.
Engage one Construction Engineer for seven months to provide resident technical supervision, quality assurance,
construction monitoring and contract-administration support for water, sanitation and hygiene facilities in six schools and five
healthcare facilities in Teraina and Tabuaeran in the line islands of Kiribati. The assignment will address the difficulty of
providing routine oversight across dispersed and remote island construction sites and will support timely completion in
accordance with approved designs, specifications, UNICEF requirements and government standards.
UNICEF Bangladesh supports the Government of Bangladesh in strengthening the national hygiene agenda through evidence-based hygiene promotion, national campaigns, and sustainable programming approaches. The purpose of this consultancy is to provide time-bound technical and coordination support for the planning, implementation, monitoring, and documentation of the national school-based Menstrual Hygiene Management campaign, while strengthening the generation and use of hygiene-related evidence and knowledge. The consultant will support the development and approval of Hygiene promotion materials, campaign planning and monitoring, analysis and visualization of WASH evidence, and preparation of clearly defined Knowledge, advocacy and learning products. The assignment will also document lessons and formulate practical recommendations for institutionalization, replication and potential scale-up by government and sector partners
