The WASH Officer reports to the CSD Specialist (Level 3) Specialist who is at level 3 for
supervision. The WASH Officer provides technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the WASH programming process. The Officer prepares, manages and implements a variety of technical and administrative tasks, related to the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the WASH output results of the country programme.
UNICEF Nigeria is seeking for a consultant for six months to develop a training manual on Child Rights and Child Protection for commissioned and non-commissioned officers of the Nigerian Army, to be integrated and institutionalized in the relevant training curriculum on the relevant military training entities across Nigeria.
Under the supervision of the Supply Specialist, the incumbent of this post will focus on supply plan consolidation and implementation: procurement of goods, supplies and equipment, solicitation, sales orders and purchase requisition review, local LTA setup for goods and services, CRC submissions, Pos and DPOs, pre-delivery inspection, supplier database update, vendor sourcing and performance evaluation, link procurement with logistics and delivery, end user monitoring, filing.
The consultant will have the following scope of work:
• Prepare a set of analytical briefs based on the results of the UNICEF’s Behavioural and Social Drivers of Vaccination surveys;
• Develop data visualizations and programmatic insight decks related to UNICEF’s ‘Internet of Good Things’ results;
• Develop insight decks and related monitoring tools for the community engagement mapping of UNICEF programmes and for the Harmful Behaviors and Violence Against Children Behavioral Surveys Study;
• Provide SBC Research Technical Advice for regional offices and country offices designs for SBC research and data analysis related to the deployment of the Implementation Toolkit for Monitoring for Social and Behaviour Change Programming.
Plan, create, and curate social media content, maintain and update editorial calendars, collect and collate multimedia information from different departments.
- Monitor various sources for new content and information about what is happening in and around the UN related to child, adolescent and maternal health
- Create visuals, quote cards and other materials as requested using online tools (such as Canva or Adobe Photoshop).
- Acts as focal point on social media matters, monitoring and reporting on the latest trends and developments, responding to queries, and participating in monitoring and evaluation.
- Attend press conferences and events to gather quotes, take photos and videos which can be used in social media posts.
- Draft posts for Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Research trends and posts from partners and suggest retweets/reposts; monitor the social media accounts for followers' comments and questions.
- Research latest social media trends for the visualization and communication of child health related topics/issues; assist the Office of the Director’s team in researching iconography in the Office's image databases and online using the Office's photo library; research concepts for campaigns and introduce ideas through clear visual and verbal presentations; respond to requests for drafting posts and creating engaging visuals, graphics, videos for the Office's social media channels.
- Support UNGA, WHS, GHNM events with updates to social media on relevant topics and discussions.
