This position will play a pivotal role in guiding Giga’s programmatic activities, ensuring effective oversight, alignment and coordination. As a key team within the Office of Innovation (OoI), this role also involves close collaboration with other OoI teams, particularly those focused on education, to foster education-focused collaborations and enhance the initiative's impact.
The Senior Adviser will supervise several key teams, each with distinct goals: Capital Fund, Connectivity Credits Marketplace, Market Influence & Procurement Centre, and Country Support. These teams collectively aim to innovate financial structures, reduce connectivity costs, and enable on-the-ground implementation in numerous countries, ensuring that Giga's objectives are met efficiently and effectively.
Under the direct supervision of Operations Officer, undertakes operations management support services in a sub-country office, the incumbent assists in ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations support services, providing guidance to administrative staff as well and supporting staff in office operations assignments. Ensures the office’s operations and services are in compliance with the organization's policies, procedures, rules and regulations. The duty station for this post is Gedaref.
The purpose of this consultancy is to provide expert guidance on the development of a research and thought leadership agenda on the debt crisis and its impacts on children. The consultant will support the shaping of the research direction, advise on the production of key outputs, and contribute to the delivery of a flagship publication. This includes identifying and engaging contributing authors, facilitating research activities, supporting coherence across outputs, and advising on the preparation of a final book that synthesizes findings and policy insights.
Under the direct supervision of the PG SPSP HCT team data manager, and in close collaboration with the ICTD Core Solution Unit IT Manager, the consultant will be responsible for the following deliverables:
1. Complete the front end and backend HOPE refactoring coupling within one Docker, Move from Graph QL to Django Rest Framework, ensure Code Coverage ~95%
2. Implement technical measures to pull out grievances’ modules from HOPE stack in order to benefit from independent maintenance across modules.
3. Support the development of a biometrics solution for registration/deduplication and beneficiary authentication, utilizing Voice and Face Photo information.
4. Support the Development of the Country workspace, a system enabling the manipulation of registration data before uploading into HOPE.
5. Refactor deduplication by removing data husband elastic search and enable programme specific deduplication rules
6. Complete Country Report features to allow users to have granular access to HOPE data
7. Achieve HOPE distributed architecture by defining and implementing a technical solution to have different databases (e.g.: per group of time zones) to optimize maintenance time slot and performance
National Individual Consultant to Support the Induction and Capacity Building of Wedge Midwives (Midwife Mentors) to Provide Support to the Maternal Health and Prevention of Vertical Transmission Programme: Under the supervision of the UNICEF HIV/AIDS Manager, and in collaboration with the Kwa-Zulu Natal Provincial Department of Health and the Regional Training Centre, the national individual consultant will develop (a) an outline of the training, (b) interactive training materials that will cover clinical leadership, mentorship, coaching and the district health system, and (c) facilitate a 3-day training for 44 MCWH mentors.
