Under the direct supervision of the Senior Supply & Logistics Manager, the Logistics Specialist coordinates and provides technical oversight for logistics, warehousing and distribution operations for UNICEF South Sudan Country Office. The role supports the effective movement, storage and delivery of supplies across the country programme and emergency response, including inbound shipment coordination, customs clearance, warehousing, inventory management, transport planning, last-mile distribution and logistics contract management. The Logistics Specialist works closely with supply, programme, operations, field office colleagues, government counterparts, implementing partners and service providers to ensure timely, efficient, accountable and fit-for-purpose logistics support for results for children

The supply chain operations include planning, procurement, contracting, customs clearance, warehousing, in country transport and distribution, as well as monitoring of supplies, services and construction works. The incumbent collaborates closely with programmes in defining supply interventions to meet programmatic needs and achieve results for children, and provides technical and advisory support to governments, national systems and partners on supply chain management.
