UNICEF Uzbekistan seeks a committed and experienced Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist to ensure the availability of reliable, actionable information for advancing children's and women's rights. The position focuses on evaluating the performance and impact of UNICEF-supported programs and supporting the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and other commitments for children.
UNICEF in DRC uses cash transfers modality for cash transfers to support most vulnerable populations in the country in all programmatic contexts (emergency, transition, and development contexts) to address the basic and sectoral needs and services. UNICEF is providing support to the government in the payment of incentives, salaries for front line workers such as health professionals, social workers, teachers… Through longer term cash-based interventions UNICEF DRC supports beneficiary households and communities towards sustainable and middle & longer-term outcomes. UNICEF in DRC optimizes the use multipurpose cash transfers to achieve sectoral and multisectoral outcomes. Rapid Response & Basic Needs humanitarian cash transfers, Cash+ programs focusing on Nutrition, GBV and Child Protection outcomes, longer-term shock responsive cash and cash based social protection programs and incentive payments for sectoral systems strengthening are some of the cash-based programming approaches adopted by the Cash Unit team and respective UNICEF sections in DRC.
The purpose of this assignment is to develop a national roadmap and costed action plan, to accelerate progress on Child Survival action in Mozambique (2025-2030), in line with the Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG3) “Good health and well-being” and the Mozambican government's commitment to ending preventable deaths of newborns and children under 5 years.
PROGRAMME AREA AND SPECIFIC PROJECT AREA:
The objective of the Child Survival Action Plan is to support Mozambique's targets for reducing under-five mortality, improve core indicators, expand coverage, and enhance the quality of high-impact MNCH interventions to manage morbidity and mortality, while strengthening primary healthcare platforms. The focus will be on operationalizing and scaling up quality MNCH interventions currently limited across the service delivery spectrum.
