The Chief, Nutrition reports to the Deputy Representative for general guidance and direction. The Chief is responsible for managing and supervising all stages of the nutrition programme, from strategic planning and formulation to delivery of results. The Chief is also responsible for leading and managing the Nutrition team, along with strong collaboration with the Health and WASH sections on CSD imperatives, and other sections on cross-sectoral programmes. The Chief is accountable for ensuring that concrete and sustainable results in maternal, infant and child nutrition programmes are achieved in accordance with plans, allocation, results based-management approaches and methodology (RBM), as well as UNICEF’s Strategic Plans, standards of performance, and accountability framework.

The consultancy will identify and recommend an efficient, inclusive, and financially sustainable management model for the rehabilitated Sports Complex and computer room in Bissau. It will also develop a practical sustainability plan covering operations, maintenance, waste management, financial viability, and community engagement to ensure long-term functionality and positive community impact.

You will be responsible for leading, managing and supervising all stages of Economic and Social Policy programming and related advocacy, from strategic planning and formulation to delivery of concrete and sustainable results. This includes programmes aimed at improving (a) public policies to reduce monetary and multidimensional child poverty; (b) inclusive, shock-responsive social protection systems and programmes; (c) the transparency, adequacy, equity and efficiency of child-focused public investments, domestic financing and financial management; (d) governance, decentralization and accountability measures to increase public participation and the quality, equity and coverage of social services, and (e) livelihoods and economic opportunities as per new UNICEF Strategic Plan. This encompasses both direct programme work with government (central and at subnational levels), international financial institutions, development partners, and civil society partners, as well as linkages and support to teams working on education, health, nutrition, child protection, and water and sanitation.
