This is a Junior Professional Officer position open to Finnish nationals only. The JPO will provide support across the different sectors to ensure the technical excellence and quality of programmatic work on inclusion of children with disabilities in the South Asia region to advance the DIPAS cross-sectoral strategic priorities. The JPO will also support the knowledge interchange on best practices in disability inclusive programming across the region. Overall, the funding of this position will provide much-needed support for the organization's strengthened commitment to leaving no child behind.
In response to these challenges, UNICEF is undertaking a research program aimed at contributing to policy discussions and the development of actionable responses to better protect children’s rights in the context of the debt crisis in lower and lower-middle income countries. This research seeks to (i) assess and articulate the impacts of the current debt situation on children and (ii) explore policy approaches to debt management and restructuring that prioritize child outcomes and the long-term benefits of investing in human capital.
To support this work UNICEF is seeking a subject matter expert to develop a background paper as a foundation of a chapter for a final book to investigate the role of IMF social safeguarding approaches in protecting and promoting child development.
UNICEF Pacific is in search of a dedicated and proactive national or international Consultant. The consultancy is for a period of 97 days (83 remote and 14 in country) spread over 7 months. The consultancy is open to both national and international applicants and is expected to be home-based with 14 days at country level. The consultant must be available for meetings scheduled during Vanuatu working hours. The consultant will report on a day-to-day basis to the Chief of UNICEF Field Office in Vanuatu, who will provide administrative oversight and facilitate engagement with national counterparts and partners. Technical guidance, quality assurance, and coordination support will be provided by the Climate and Environmental Specialist based at the UNICEF Pacific Multi-Country Office in Suva, Fiji. For consultants based outside of Vanuatu, two in-country missions are anticipated over the duration of the assignment. The number, timing, and duration of these missions will be defined during the inception phase. The consultant’s financial proposal must include all the costs required to carry out the assignment. This includes professional fees, travel-related expenses such as return economy-class airfare, terminal expenses, Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) and insurance, communication cost etc. Costs associated with the organization of consultation workshops (e.g., venue hire, refreshments, materials) will be covered directly by UNICEF and should not be included in the consultant’s financial proposal.
Under direct supervision of the Early Childhood Development (ECD) Specialist and in cooperation with all relevant UNICEF sections (Child Protection, Communications and Partnerships) the Consultant will provide high quality support in designing and implementing UNICEF program activities related to ECI, DI, inclusive nutrition, and support for parents of young children with disabilities. The Purpose of the consultancy is to provide technical support in design and implementation of programme activities of ECD and Child protection programs of UNICEF Belarus.
UNICEF Moldova is looking for a National Individual Consultant to document and compile a comprehensive compendium of school-based projects implemented in Cahul and Ungheni. This compendium will serve as a reference for educators, policymakers, and development partners, highlighting best practices, lessons learned, and key results from the experiential and project-based teaching practices implemented at the local level in the key regions.
