UNICEF is looking for a short–term writer to support the communication team in realising agreed communication plans for July – December 2025. Under the overall general guidance of the Chief of Communication, Advocacy and Partnerships this role is responsible for one or all of writing, editing, proofreading and quality assurance of human-interest stories, copy for photo essays, advocacy briefs, key messages, newsletters, media briefs, press releases, website resource hubs, blogs and social media content in English.
The professional writer and editor is required to provide high-quality editing, proofreading, and writing services for various UNICEF publications and documents, under tight deadlines, as well as quality assurance to ensuring clarity, consistency, and adherence to UNICEF’s style guidelines.
The Consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Communication Specialist at UNICEF South Africa.
UNICEF Inncoenti - Global Offcie of Research and Foresight is seeking a consultant to support planning, creating and disseminating communications materials aimed at promoting initiatives implemented by the Youth Engagement and Strategy (YES) team. This will include a range of mixed methods research initiatives including but not limited to the Youth Foresight Fellowship, the Leading Minds Fellowship on Climate Education, Horizons of climate financing and youth x corporate sustainability workstreams, developing communication plans in collaboration with the YES team and UNICEF country offices, coordinating communications and outreach related to national youth-led research programs, publication launches, and high-visibility advocacy moments through UNICEF and partner events.
The Social & Economic Policy (SEP) unit at UNICEF Innocenti - Global Office of Research and Foresight is establishing a Roster of Consultants with pre-qualified candidates who can be contracted quickly to provide a range of research services. These may include quantitative or qualitative data collection activities, data analysis (quantitative and/or qualitative), literature reviews, writing research outputs such as reports, briefs or academic articles, amongst others.
