The Social and Behaviour Change Officer (MNCH) reports to the Chief of Communication and works directly under the Social Behavior Change Officer’s close supervision and guidance. The scope of work under this Job Profile is related to promoting health seeking behaviour on maternal and newborn health related issues. The Officer provides technical and operational support to the supervisor and internal colleagues by administering, executing and implementing a variety of tasks to promote community engagement and participation, and measurable behavioral and social change/mobilization, requiring the application of technical and theoretical skills and the study of organizational goals, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
This 12-month consultancy will support the management and implementation of UNICEF’s Adolescent Development and Participation (ADAP) team’s Youth-Led Action commitments to donors in both the development and humanitarian space, including country technical assistance and the global digital learning and skilling hub Youth-Led Action. The consultant will also play a key supportive role in building partnerships and resource mobilization for this agenda, including supporting work with country government and stakeholder partners for long-term systems strengthening and country ownership of this work.
With the work in this space evolving and engaging a broader range of donors, the ADAP team seeks to engage a consultant who will contribute to delivering on the Youth-Led Action agenda by producing a set of targeted deliverables, outlined below, and supporting resource mobilization and partnerships.
The consultancy will be managed by UNICEF’s Adolescent Development and Participation (ADAP) team, in close collaboration with colleagues from Health and Mental Health.
The consultant will be under the overall supervision of the Senior Education Advisor (Management, Advocacy and Partnerships), and work in close collaboration with the Global Director, thematic area Team Leaders, DGCA, regional and country offices. For deliverables in support of the Safe to Learn Secretariat, the consultant will work under the guidance of the Head of Secretariat.
